The Nintendo Switch has been on shop shelves for a couple of months now and sales are going great. As usual there was a bit of a struggle for the general public to get their hands on one but with stock replenished and Nintendo back ion the lips and in the hearts of everyone how do things look for the Switch in the future?
If you have been living on the moon recently for the spring holidays the Nintendo Switch bridges the gap between handheld gaming and conventional couch gaming. Effectively it is a tablet with two controllers jammed on either side of it which can be removed for multiplayer use or attached for single player. It also comes with a docking station which allows seamless play on your television. It is fantastic! But this is not what this post is about. This post is about what games Nintendo have in store for us this year. Zelda: Breathe of the Wild was a great launch title and it was backed up by the addictive Mario Kart 8 but what else can consumers expect to see this year from the Switch?
Everyone’s favourite Blue Hedgehog hasn’t been treated as well as he should recently but we are looking forward to the release of Sonic Mania. Coming in August Sonic Mania features a reimagining of Sonic 1, 2, 3 and CD! All with new acts, new bosses and new features. You can play as Sonic, Tails and Knuckles. In all fairness this is just a rehash of some old games but its Sonic! The main reason we want to get this is to share the experience with our little people and relive our own childhood in the process.
Lego City Undercover
Lego games are fantastic. That is all! Seriously though Lego Batman, Star Wars and Jurassic Park kicked figurative butt when it game to platform puzzlers and we have no doubts that the Nintendo Switch Lego games will do the exact same thing. This Lego game is open world and is packed full of pop culture references! Whats not to love.
Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove
Eeep! This classic 2D indie game is making its way to the Nintendo Switch! Treasure Trove is the ultimate game edition. You will get the original quests but also loads of cool bonus quests and features.
